12/31/2022 0 Comments Kenshi review![]() ![]() One minute you're bounty hunting, and then you get to town to turn him in and his body just POOFS into thin air. If that doesn't turn off new players, then the bugs surely will. Figuring out how most of these systems work is a job in and of itself, and learning which characters can do what and how well and what you need to craft X item to do Y thing just becomes a bottomless pit of tedium. But then you really get into it, and you find all of these flaws that just seem to get in the way of everything else. At first, these things are all exciting, as the discovery is what really makes this game. Kenshi seems to have it all at first - brutal difficulty, complex systems and mechanics, deep role-playing potential and tons of customization and personalization. #Kenshi review modsOnly about 1/4 of the map is actually playable right now, and that 1/4th contains so much that it's hard to even imagine the rest of it, and you can have a controllable squad of up to 256 with mods (disclaimer - I am not responsible for your computer frying if you try to do that) Now, you may or may not already know this, but Kenshi is a free-roam, open world, squad based RPG set in a really big and harsh open world. TL DR: Kenshi is a great game, with a lot of innovative and interesting ideas that become quickly buried by the sheer amount of bugs, crashes, unoptimization and confounding inaccessibility. I sincerely SINCERELY hope that the development of this game does not falter (delays are starting to happen for major updates which isn't always a great sign) Let me give you a quick TL DR before I go into details. Not because it's a bad game, but because it intrigued me so much, and then let me down that much more. "I let out a deep sigh whenever I think of Kenshi. As much as I really like Kenshi as a concept, it's just too early and unfinished to truly enjoy. ![]()
